Class 10/19/24: Bee Cocoon Cleaning
Date/Time: Saturday, October 19, 10:00-11:00am
Location: at the Nursery! 6403 NE 277th Ave, Camas, WA
Interested in caring for mason bees but unsure about the process? In this class, we’ll use the property’s bee cocoons to learn about proper cleaning and storage techniques for the winter. We’ll also meet some of the many local solitary bee species you may find on your property and go over potential risks and threats to human-managed bee stations.
Plus, we’ll talk about how native bees use the plants in your yard for habitat and how you can offer winter habitat without sacrificing your yard’s appearance! Many of our native plants provide habitat for native bee species throughout the winter. If you want to add these plants to your yard, you can order online and pick up plants at the class!
