Bee Reeds (sm)

$7.75
  • 25 count

  • 6" long

  • Inside diameter ranges between 7-10mm

Natural lake bed reeds are beautiful and easy to split open on bee harvest time. The slight size variation allows female bees (of various species) to find nesting materials that are the right size. These reeds are hand-cut and gathered, and have a natural node to seal the back end, preventing access from parasitic wasps and other pests.

For fall harvest, crack open the end of the reed with your fingers and pry reed apart to expose cocoons and pests. Perfect for mason bees, wild cavity-nesting bees, and beneficial solitary wasps!
